Description of the machine
After SCM introduced the ARES rodmaker to the market, many machines have been sold in different configurations. However, the success of Ares has one downside, the capacity of Ares is very high. Some customers therefore cannot justify to invest in the Ares Rodmaker and until now they had to stick to the adapted version of the Mark 8, that used to be delivered by SCM. Now, SCM introduces the best alternative for the adapted Mark 8 machine, with all benefits from the Ares machine (and gained experience), with all manuals and safety according to modern times. The setup of the Eris machine is based on the same modular philosophy as used in Ares, using separate servo drives for all different stages in the process. Compared to the Ares, the Eris machine offers higher flexibility but is limited in speed. The design of the garniture section is such, that existing Mark 8 model parts, can be used. All modules on the Eris machine are based on proven technology concepts already in use in other types of rodmakers from the SCM/ITM portfolio.
