Description of the machine

Introduced on the 2003 Tabexpo in Barcelona, the Orion headshaper is a perfect match to the Ares rodmaker. The Ares-Orion is the fastest rodmaking-rodshaping combination in the world. The Orion concept is based on a modular philosophy. This enhances flexibility and maintenance. The Orion
machine is equipped with 2 big gull-wing type doors giving optimal access to the machine for cleaning and maintenance. A drawer is included with a bin for waste products and rejects detected by the Libra weight control or bobbin-splice detection system on the Ares Rodmaker. HMI Controls of Orion are integrated in the Ares touch panel. The main drive of Orion is a servo motor. The drilling stations are driven by 2 external motors and are frequency controlled. All transfers trough the machine are by vacuum
drums. The Orion can be equipped with a cutting station to get an output of single length products instead of double length products.
